In Detail: Making The Lounge Chair
A short film documenting the processes and methods used to design and make The Lounge Chair.
The Lounge Chair came from a unity of Scottish creatives, with multi-disciplinary design studio, ‘Instrmnt Applied Design’ collaborating with Glasgow based designer/maker, Lewis Macleod, at ‘Hame’. The first run, captured here, was limited to 10.
Filmed candidly on location, with over 9 hours of footage, we intensively captured each stage of Hame’s handiwork.
While editing, we wanted to retain as much of the process as possible to honour the precision and detail that went into the manufacture of each chair, resulting in this 12 minute film.
The outcome is a slow and calming watch as one board of American Walnut evolves into the striking silhouette of The Lounge Chair.
